We are pleased to announce that Filmar Technologies LLC can now efficiently and securely wipe hard drives without having to install them on desktops or laptops in large quantities under DOD/NIST standards, generating more value for our business while also freeing up valuable time and resources so our technicians can focus on other projects.

“Our old system did the job, but it was not efficient,” says Peter Orlando, of Filmar Technologies LLC. Before, you had to go onto each computer and check each station. It was a lot more time-consuming having to look at many different monitors. Now, we are putting 60+ hard drives in one box with one monitor.

So, how are we doing it? We are using the latest technology solutions from petabyte storage manufacturers, partnering with industry leading data erasure developers along with our software development solution that captures the following info: physical size of the HDD, wipe method, i.e., U.S. Department of Defense 5220.22-M, time/date stamps, serial numbers, and many more details.

Our old solution couldn’t keep up with our growth and customer demands. Not only did the number of drives per wipe need to be increased, but the time of each wipe required to be sped up. Now, with our direct wired approach, our data wipes times are significantly shorter and failure rates have been greatly reduced compared to previous methods.

These solutions saves an enormous amount of space for wiping and allows us to wipe more drives per sq. ft. We can run 60+ hard drives at one time, mixed with 2.5″ SSD, 3.5 desktop drives, and SAS drives.

It’s a fully customizable process from start to finish. Customizable erasure reports, printable and digital certificates, and labels can be created to confirm the sanitization and maintain accountability. Our customers can log in and get a daily status report of each wipe.
